What Makes Us Different

When people ask me what sets Ascend Body apart from other gyms, I get excited to share not only what makes us different, but what makes us a truly special wellness community in the heart of San Francisco.

Notice I didn’t use the word gym to describe Ascend.

This is not a flashy, typical gym with bright lights and loud music. Instead, we’ve created a space where you feel at home among knowledgeable practitioners and clients dedicated to cultivating stronger, healthier versions of themselves. It’s a quintessential San Francisco loft that’s nurturing and supportive, active and inviting.

Our approach is holistic. From exercise and nutrition to mental well being, we focus on all aspects of physical and emotional health and pride ourselves on a what we call a 360 degree approach to wellness. Our goal is to cultivate a space of self-love within each client starting from the inside out; we recognize the exterior will reflect the inner beauty that resides within each of us once we commit to ourselves wholly and without compromise.

We nurture healthy and sustainable lifestyles; our 360 degree philosophy ensures that you’re supported every step of the way to achieving a healthier, fitter, and more fulfilled version of yourself in all domains of your life. In order to feel and look sexy on the outside, we have to feel and believe ourselves to be sexy from the inside. You’ll not only see results, you’ll feel them too.

Many of us struggle with a distorted body image influenced and perpetuated by myriad factors including popular media. We have a preconceived notion of what fitness and health should look like and become preoccupied with numbers and mirrors.

At Ascend, we help you embrace and feel good about the body you have and what you’re capable of during each step in the process. Your body’s ability to move and adapt is beautiful and uniquely you. You should look exactly as you do and we’re here to help you learn how to care for yourself through nutrition, sleep, intentional breath, and introspection.

We also offer inspiring group programs like UPLIFT, our mind-body boot-camp where you are encouraged to re-examine your relationship with yourself, eliminate destructive thought patterns, and practice self-compassion. We believe in the power of consciousness and mindfulness and employ these techniques in our training; exercise is just part of the equation in optimizing well being.

Don’t get me wrong… you’ll certainly get your ass kicked. But, you’ll feel good doing it and feel energized as a result. We’ll equip you with all the necessary tools to rebuild, regenerate, and alter unproductive habits and limiting beliefs.

We are a community obsessed with inner peace, strength, and self love. We hike on Saturdays, meditate, and we go to the beach to celebrate the natural beauty that exists in our world. We’re different because we laugh together, sweat together, and experience life together. So, #BreatheSweatSmile and come ascend to a higher level with us.

We’re not a gym. We’re different. And, we like it that way.
