We need to cool down! As the weather heats up this summer it’s important to keep our bodies hydrated. That means more water, and more minerals! Today’s healthy Paleo salad contains tons of minerals and H20. Vegetables in general are mostly made up of water, minerals and vitamins.
Leafy greens are especially important. That’s because they’re full of calcium, which our bodies need for muscle contraction. Then there’s tomatoes, which contain potassium. Potassium is essential for proper nerve, kidney, muscle and heart function.
Finally, it wouldn’t be Paleo without a big hunk of protein 😉 That’s where the shrimp comes in. Not only is shrimp full of protein, it’s also a great source of magnesium. 42% of reactions in the human body depend on magnesium! The scary part? Stress depletes our magnesium stores. Which means it’s super important to load up on magnesium, especially when we’re stressed. #stayontheshrimpysideoflife
