Peanut Butter Honey Chicken

Happy 4th of July America! Time to get the BBQ out and grill all our favorite meats. My first pick for healthy meat is definitely chicken. When it’s high quality, chicken is one of the best lean protein sources we have on this planet. Now what’s one of the worst mistake we can make on this upcoming with chicken? Dipping it into bbq sauce, which is loaded with added and unnecessary sugars. On the other hand, without sauce, chicken can be dry and tasteless. So what to do?

I like to look at my food like an artist looks at his canvas. You try different colors to get the result you want in the end. If the chicken is our canvas, then the marinade we put on it is our color. Does that mean it has to be complicated? Hell no! We want you to enjoy your holiday with tasty food- not spend hours in the kitchen cooking. It has to be easy and quick, which I’ll prove is possible with this recipe!

But first let’s look at why I picked a peanut butter honey marinade. First off, peanuts are loaded with a lot of protein, but more importantly: Fat! We need fat to make it delicious. Honey on the other hand is one of the richest foods in terms of potassium and zinc. Plus it contains important B-vitamins, which help our bodies metabolize sugars. Thumbs up for honey and peanut butter, right? Just make sure that you get organic products and buy peanut butter in a glass without any added sugars.

Long story short, let’s get to the recipe and get ready for the up coming BBQ. Long live America!

Ingredients (for 12 big pieces of chicken):

  • 2 cups of creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup of coconut aminos
  • 1/2 tbsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tsp of red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 organic lemon (squeezed)
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • A little of ground pepper

Preparation:

  1. Mix everything together in a bowl
  2. Get your chicken pieces and marinade the chicken with it. That’s it.
