In 2013 my health journey took an unexpected turn. Years of endurance sports had taken a toll on my body leading to multiple muscle imbalances that made cycling and running very painful. My neck hurt all the time, and I fractured my collar bone in a bike accident. A friend, of mine suggested that I take Paul Chek’s Holistic Lifestyle Coach course. I took the initial assessment and I was shocked by the results because I thought of myself as very healthy. After being vegetarian for years, I went paleo. My sugar and grain consumption was way down and I started eating more healthy fats and clean protein sources. I began to explore my motivation for racing in Triathlons and I realized that I was using it to escape from people. I stopped competing in triathlon and I started to get serious about strength training. The amount of time I spent working out went from twenty plus hours per week to five hours. My strength, physique and posture improved dramatically and at 38 years old I am in the best shape of my life. I never allowed myself to believe that I was getting old and neither should you. With the right diet and exercise plan, along with a healthy mindset, their is no limit to how healthy you can feel.
