Ever since growing up as kids, we’ve all heard the saying, “You are what you eat.” Well, some of us turned into cheeseburgers and others of us started growing feathers from eating too much chicken.
But seriously, folks. When I was studying for my Bachelor’s Degree at Cal State Hayward, one of my favorite classes was Corporitization of Agriculture. It revealed the inhumane practices involved with factory farming and the mainstream industrialization of produce. This was the seed that started me on my path toward eating hormone-free/ free-range/ grass fed proteins and organic produce.
When you think about it, our body absorbs everything in the foods that we put into our mouths and bodies. Foods made through the factory-farms and pesticide-filled industrial methods contain pesticides, additives, and hormones. These are all absorbed into our bodies. This has numerous impacts on our overall health, including a direct impact on a cellular and hormonal level. This leads to further disruption of all our bodies systems, ranging from disruptive sleep patterns, poor digestive tracts, immune responses, and development of disease states.
