7 Things Champions Eat for Breakfast

Breakfast can make or break your whole day — at least in terms of your metabolism.

Skipping the first meal of the day slows your metabolism down for 24 hours and makes it hard to concentrate. This slowdown explains why people who make a habit of not eating breakfast — or only having coffee — are four times more likely to become obese and are also more susceptible to diabetes.

On the other hand, eating an unhealthy breakfast can also do a number on your body. To keep you from ruining your day by getting off to the wrong start, we’ve got some suggestions about what  to eat for your first meal of the day.

Nutritious Breakfasts

  1. Organic egg omlette with veggies, cooked in either: coconut oil, ghee, palm oil or lard;
  2. Nondairy smoothie with organic fruits and vegetables, plus brown rice protein powder;
  3. Zuchini pancakes — using only organic ingredients without flour or potatoes;
  4. Sweet potato hash with egg, and again, that’s all with organic
  5. Glass of fresh-squeezed organic vegetable juice (we prefer carrot and beet, but you could also try anything from tomato to wheat grass, depending on your tastes), quinoa (soaked for 24 hours and then rinsed before cooking, followed by another rinse) with almond milk and stevia;
  6. Eggs fried in coconut oil, a side of pork and broccoli rabe with soaked slivered almonds;
  7. Mixed greens topped with organic Canadian bacon.
